Dermaplaning is a technique that has been used by skin care professionals for over 50 years. Yes, you read that correctly. It has also been referred to as blading and microplaning, becoming more widespread in the last decade. Dermaplaning utilizes an exfoliation technique of blading the skin at a precise angle to remove the top-most layer of the skin. 

Remove dead skin cells, stimulate new collagen with no downtime. This results in smoother, brighter, and more even skin tone. While this procedure does remove most unwanted peach fuzz, it truly focuses on the skin cells. This is not the same as shaving or using a blade at home. 

Our Esthetician uses a new sterile, disposable surgical blade every time. They will concentrate on areas of concern with more passes and be gentle in areas with thinner skin. 

We always customize your treatment. Dermaplaning can be combined with a light chemical peel, LED light therapy, medical grade facials, and some laser procedures. When removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells right before a laser rejuvenation procedure the laser can penetrate deeper. Post dermaplaning, serums and masks can penetrate deeper.

Your esthetician may also recommend steaming to soften the skin prior or using oil or oil planing for dryer skin.
